Bettye Stewart, 82, of Alvarado passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1010 S. Parkway Drive in Alvarado. Pastor Robert Baze and Pastor Bob Baze will be officiating. Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
Bettye was born on Nov. 2, 1930, in Arlington, Texas, to Dehaven and Faye (Daniels) Peterson. She dearly loved Alvarado, Texas, and was a resident for 46 years. Bettye was a faithful Christian and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane Stewart; and sons, Michael Stewart, Danny Stewart and Mark Stewart.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Marvin Stewart Sr.; daughter, Neesie Stewart of Venus, Texas; daughter, Cathy Gillihan and husband, Bill, of Cypress, Texas; daughter, Sue Stewart of Alvarado; son, Marvin Stewart Jr. and wife, Karen, of Arlington; son, Nick Stewart and wife, Mandy, of Alvarado; sister, Jean Welch of Colorado; sister, Nancy Johnson and husband, Bob, of Flower Mount, Texas; sister, Jans Paoli of Cleburne; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and a multitude of friends.
Bettye will be loved and missed until we meet again in Heaven.
