DALLAS — Services for Esther Marie Cotton, 93, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. The Rev. Johnny Walker will officiate.

The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Rosser Funeral Home.

Esther passed away on Jan. 9, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. She was born April 20, 1919, in Cleburne, Texas, to William Manley Joplin and Bertha Hassatine Cummings Joplin.

Esther married Orville Cotton on Jan. 6, 1937, in Cleburne, Texas, and was married 70 years. She owned and operated beauty shop, was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Cleburne and received a lifetime membership award to the Women’s Society of Christian Service.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville Cotton; daughter, Joanne Cotton; and sister, Thelma Simons.

She is survived by her son, Bill Cotton and wife, Sue, of Eagle Nest, N.M.; daughter, Jerrilynn Weeks and husband, Newt, of Dallas; sister-in-law, Veta Mae Stringer of Cleburne; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
