Frances A. Hallmark

Services for Frances A. Hallmark, 93, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Steve Dill will officiate. Interment will be held 1p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.

Frances A. Hallmark passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in Cleburne. She was born June 30, 1914. in Sheffield, Ala., to Robert Z. and Amelia Tyllick Allen. She married Ellis Hallmark in 1985 in Killeen, Texas.

Mrs. Hallmark was a homemaker and a member of Southwest Family Church.

Frances A. Hallmark is survived by her son, Marvin Dougharty of Biloxi, Miss.; son-in-law, Joe McBride of Cleburne; granddaughters, Teresa Sanhorn and husband, Daniel, of Irving, Texas, and Leanne Kimberlin and husband, Rob, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandsons, Carey McBride and wife, Rhona, of LaPlata, Md., Wade McBride and wife, Sandra, of Azle, Texas; Joseph McBride and wife, Simona, of Kentwood, Mich., Terry Dougharty of Biloxi, Miss., and Brian Dougharty and wife, Mary Ann, of Biloxi, Miss.; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter Allen of Channelview, Texas, and Hubert Allen of Spring, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Hallmark, in 1988; daughter, Laura M. McBride, in 2006; six brothers; and one sister.

Billy Ray Maddox

Billy Ray Maddox passed away Wednesday morning Oct. 17, 2007, at North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills, Texas, from complications of lung cancer. Billy was born in Cleburne, Texas, on Aug. 20, 1947.

He was a devoted father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents Etta Louise and the Rev. Elem Holbert Jr.

He is survived by his daughters, LaNina Manning, NiKeyco Grant and Kentrena McFarland; sons Jacobi Grant and Marcus Grant; sisters Wanda Sneed and Jerrolyn Crawford; brother Milton Maddox; and 14 beloved grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Maddox will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in Dallas Veterans Cemetery. Services are being handled by W.L. Lawson Funeral Assocication.



Virginia Gayle Gibbs

A memorial service for Virginia Gayle Gibbs, 57, of Cleburne, Texas, will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at the New Life Church of Christ with Brother Darrel Hightower officiating.

Virginia Gayle Gibbs was born Jan. 26, 1950, and went home to her heavenly Father on Oct. 11, 2007. She was a kind and giving person who never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Amy Henderson and Gary Gibbs and wife, Haley; and grandchildren, Ben Littlefield, Lee Littlefield, Candice Fuller, Gary Gene “Trey” Gibbs III, Hailey Gibbs and Reynie Gibbs.

Stephen M. Shipley

FORT WORTH — Stephen M. Shipley, 54, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at a Fort Worth hospital.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington.

“Steve, with a smile,” as he was fondly called by those who knew him, was pleasant, easy-going and enjoyed walking. He enjoyed his many friends at Cibolo Group Home and the loving care and support he received from staff. Some of his other “favorites” included watching television (”Walker, Texas Ranger”), wrestling and anything Elvis, including Elvis impersonators.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Shipley.

Steve will be sadly missed by his father, Robert Shipley; sister, Donna Murphy; uncle, Gene Sumrow; neph-dog, Nicky; aunt, Marceille Reeves, of Cleburne; and cousins Terri Armstrong and family, Carla Cavaiani and husband, and Tina Reeves.

Ernestine Choate

Graveside services for Ernestine Choate, 86, of Grandview, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in the Rosehill Cemetery.

Ernestine Choate passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in Burleson. She was born Sept. 24, 192,1 in Levelland, Texas, to Ernest and Mary Edwards King. She married Loyd Choate on Nov. 18, 1942. in Lubbock, Texas.

Mrs. Chaote was a seamstress and a member of Central Church of Christ.

Ernestine Choate is survived by her sons, James Choate and wife Nita, of Grandview and Truman Choate and wife, Deborah, of Whitney; daughter, Glenda Barger and husband, Gary, of Cleburne; sister, Olene Dodson of Hemet, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Alvin Choate, on Jan, 16, 1989, and one son, Edward Wayne Choate, in 1985.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
