Services for Bobbie G. Baze, 83, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Kevin Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chandler Growald, Tommy Thompson, Ryan Baze, Bill Cashion, Kenneth Helm, Ed Ball, Sid Carruth and J.D. Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Allen, Eric Harris, Randy Spencer, Kenneth Taylor, and Doug Risavy.
Mr. Baze passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, in Cleburne. He was born Feb. 2, 1931, in Keene to Alvin William and Wilma Claire Ross Baze. He married Dorothy Ann Taylor on Nov. 17, 1949, in Cleburne.
Mr. Baze served in the United States Army in the Signal Corps during the Korean conflict. He worked in the purchasing department of Santa Fe Railroad, retiring with 32 years of service and owned and operated the Burger Bar for more than 30 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Mr. Baze owned an antique car and traveled all over the state to car shows. Traveling by motorcycle was another passion of his. He loved traveling, camping and loved going to Oklahoma to eat catfish at McGehees. Mr. Baze was a member of Granbury Street Church of Christ. His strong will and courageous fight to beat the odds will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Baze; children, Darla Mullen, Steve Baze and wife, Carla, and Jan Harris and husband, Eric; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin William and Wilma Claire Baze; and a sister, Claire Belle Dahn and husband, Melvin.
