Elder Thrower passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, in Keene. He was born to H.T. and Lula M. Keeble Thrower on Sept. 30, 1927, in Chambers County, Ala. He married Wilma E. Mabry on July 15, 1951, in Lanett, Ala.

Bob served as a minister for numerous years with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he has been a member since 1960. He was the founder of the “Hour of Prophecy” radio program as well. Elder Thrower served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during both World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Bob was a man of faith, having a close walk and relationship with Jesus, he had a passion to spread His word and introduce others to the Lord. He not only officiated his daughters’ marriages, but also baptized all of his children and  grandchildren.

Bob was a giving man, with a kind heart; always seeing the good in people. Education was important to him and he graduated with a bachelor degree in theology from the Tennessee Temple University and later attended Andrews University for his graduate work.

Bob enjoyed baseball, especially the Texas Rangers, fishing and spending time in his rocking chair. His stubborn streak and loving nature will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
