Services for Mary Ruth Pittman Stowe, 79, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Rio Vista. Dr. Ron Lyles will officiate. Burial will follow in Rio Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rick Briscoe, Lonnie Borden, John Welling, Roy Peacock, Loyd Smith and Eddie Thomas. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church before the service.
Mrs. Stowe passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, in Cleburne. She was born March 21, 1934, in Stamford to Guy M. Sr. and Lucille Williams Pittman. She married Linzey H. Stowe on Thanksgiving Day in November 1955 in Fort Worth and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stowe worked for General Dynamics after high School for many years, Rangaire in Cleburne and as a paraprofessional for Rio Vista and Cleburne ISDs before retirement. She was a member of the Lady Elks, a number of quilting guilds and First Baptist Church of Rio Vista.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Stowe, of Rio Vista, formerly of Snyder; nieces, Pam Pittman Lewis, and sons, of Mesa, Ariz., also Sherry, Donna, Barbie, Sandy and Debbie; nephews, Roy Dean and Mark; aunt, Corrine Jones; a number of cousins; and her extended family, Dr. Ron and Brenda Lyles of Pasadena and their children, Tim, Ronda, Phillip and Cliff.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Guy M. Pittman Jr.; nephew, Guy M. Pittman III; and three brothers-in-law, Arthur, Buddy and Lee Roy Stowe.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Stephanie Morton and her staff; the staff of Mission Hospice; and the dedicated CNAs, nurses and staff on station two at Heritage Trails Nursing and Rehab.
