Mary Evelyne Manasco Martin, 74, of Tomball passed away Monday, April 7, 2014. She was born in Alvarado, Texas, on April 20, 1939, to parents Dee and Mary Jones Manasco. A graduate of Cleburne High School, she also attended Howard Payne University. She married the love of her life Marion Martin on Dec. 20, 1958.
As a pastor’s wife, Mrs. Martin served faithfully beside her husband by playing the piano and singing for services, teaching Sunday school and leading youth groups. She worked as a bookkeeper for more than 50 years for various companies including Collin Street Bakery in Corsicana and Lavoi Pharmacy in Beaumont. Her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, Marion Martin of Tomball; son, Bobby Martin and wife, Dianna, of Tomball; son, Barry Martin of Los Angeles, Calif.; son, Garry Martin and wife, Jennifer, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and daughter, Julie Cruz and husband, Jorge, of Corpus Christi. She had 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jimmy Manasco, and sister, Ann Manasco, both of Alvarado.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dee and Mary Manasco, and brothers Gary Manasco and Bob Manasco.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball. The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. at The Church at Creek’s End, 20010 Kuykendahl in Spring, with graveside following at Klein Cemetery in Tomball.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Martin requested donations be sent to the building fund at The Church at Creek’s End.
