Weldon ‘Butch’ Stevens


Service for Weldon “Butch” Stevens, 66, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Terry Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Mark Stevens, Johnny Moore, Darrell Moore, Paul Green, Jody Stevens, Dwain Lackey, Mike Reeves and Tommy Bridges. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackey Lackey, Gene Prine, Jack Brown and Jessie Martin. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

Butch Stevens passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 in Dallas. He was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Johnson County, to Joseph Delbert and Cleo Emmaline Johnson Stevens. He married Lily Kathryn Keeton on April 8, 1967, in Cleburne. 

Mr. Stevens was a service technician for Southwestern Bell/AT&T for more than 30 years and served in the National Guard. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson.

Weldon “Butch” Stevens is survived by his wife, Kathy Stevens of Rio Vista; daughters, Cheri Hodges and husband, Justin, and Teri Faraizl and husband, Jeff, all of Rio Vista; brothers, Charles Stevens and wife, Beverly, and Ronald Stevens, all of Grandview; sisters, Margaret Patrick and husband, Skeet, of Grandview, Bertha Parham and husband, Carroll, of Stephenville and Kay Lackey and husband, Jackey of Cleburne; five grandchildren, Jessica Stroud and husband, Taylor, Jordyn Hodges, Tyler Hodges, Katy Stone and Kyle Faraizl; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Cleo Stevens; brother, J.D. Stevens; and sisters, Lorraine Green, Gladys Reeves, Claudia Bridges and Betty Jo Stevens.
