ARLINGTON — Faye Thurston, 89, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Godley Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Arlington Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Arlington.

Faye was born Jan. 17, 1923, in Winnsboro (Wood County) to Lewis and Grace Richardson. She moved to Johnson County when she was 9 months old.

Faye grew up in Godley and graduated from Godley High School in 1941. She then moved to Fort Worth and went to a business school.

Faye married Harold Thurston on June 18, 1945. They moved to Arlington from Cleburne in 1956. Faye retired from the Arlington Independent School District in August 1983.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband in June 1993; her parents; and brother, Roy Richardson.

Survivors: sons, Don Thurston and wife, Virginia, of Arlington and Charles Thurston of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and sister, Laverne Hadley of Joshua.
