Dorothy “Dot” Smith
Services for Dorothy “Dot” Smith, 74, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. John Glover and Mr. Brad Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, in Fort Worth. She was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Lookeba, Okla., to Tensley E. and Mandy Fletcher Cox. She married Jack Smith on June 24, 1951, in Cleburne.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Field Street Baptist Church.
Dorothy “Dot” Smith is survived by husband, Jack Smith, of Cleburne; son, Stephen J. Smith and wife, Caroline, of Powhatan, Va.; daughter, Ann E. Gaines and husband, Grant, of Yukon, Okla.; grandson, Brant H. Smith and wife, Mandy, and great-granddaughter, Raven A. Smith all of Mobile, Ala.; brothers, Howard Cox and wife, Hazel, of Frisco, T.E. Cox and wife, Imogene, of Cleburne, Jim E. Cox and wife, Sherry, of Waxahachie, and R. B. Cox and wife, Glenda, of Burleson; and sister, Lura Brand, of Cleburne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Roy and Henry.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
