Burleson ISD plans to shape 2012-13 budget

Burleson school district will continue discussing its budget for the upcoming school year in its meeting on Monday evening in the Burleson ISD Administration Building.

Chief Financial Officer Karen Wiesman said that the administration is interested in a collaborative discussion about the priorities for the next budget cycle.

Administration would like to alleviate any staff concerns regarding employment for the 2012-13 school year as soon as possible.

Administrative staff members do not believe there will be any significant change in school finance for the coming year, and it’s unclear how the Legislative Budget Board and the Legislature will react to the pending lawsuits, Wiesman said.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the BISD Administration Building, 1160 S.W. Wilshire Blvd.
