Maintenance projects on several Cleburne ISD campuses have been completed this summer with the help of Chesapeake Energy employees through their Operation Blue project.
More than 60 employees from Chesapeake and Chesapeake affiliates spent two mornings painting at C.C. Cooke and Gerard elementary schools, Wheat Middle School and TEAM School.
“We’re trying to give back to the community we’re working in,” said Bob Bradley, Chesapeake superintendent. “We have a vested interest here. Many of our employees not only work in this community, they live here.”
“It’s also a team-building effort,” Bradley said. “We’re doing things outside the norm, and having fun.”
Chesapeake, and affiliates MidCon, CMP, Nomac and Great Plains Supply are involved in several community-service efforts this summer as part of Operation Blue and its Helping Energize Local Programs initiative.
“Chesapeake helped tremendously,” Wheat Middle School Principal Laurie Taylor said. “We appreciate the time they gave to help prepare our campus for the new school year.”
Projects provided by volunteers at Wheat included the painting of the fence that runs in front of the school and completing the repainting of athletic dressing rooms. Chesapeake workers also painted a fence at Gerard, porch supports on ramps at Cooke and picnic tables at TEAM School.
