Henry Colindres came to the Grandview Seventh-day Adventist Church, and he’s showing the way to Hispanic families yearning for a journey of faith.
The Grandview area is the home to a number of Hispanic families with no local place to worship. Colindres works as a Spanish interpreter for John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth but lives in Keene.
Pastor Jonathan Armstrong and Colindres are reaching out and visiting Hispanic families in the area.
“We are praying a lot about this. I believe there are many of Spanish-speaking individuals out there, and we need to find out who they are and where they live so we can contact them and invite them. God is going to show us the way,” Colindres said.
Colindres has already started a small Sabbath School class and interprets during the sermon for non-English speakers. Colindres’ hope is that the interest will grow and, perhaps in the not too far away future, there will be a Spanish church in Grandview.
Colindres also has a medical background and has plans to hold some health education programs for the Hispanic community in the coming months.
