Repub, Dem events upcoming

 

Area Democrats and Republicans have several events upcoming in February and March.

The Johnson County Democratic Party hosts Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, 728 N. Main St. 

“We didn’t give him a particular topic to discuss, but I’m sure he’ll talk about a lot of the political topics of the day,” Johnson County Democratic Party Chairman Bill Conover said.

The dinner is buffet style or individual order dining Dutch style.

Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, author of the Texas Concealed Handgun law, serves as keynote speaker of the Johnson County Republican Party’s President’s Day Gala.

The event begins at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W. Henderson St. The night also includes a special recognition of Cleburne resident and World War II veteran Tom Cannon, who recently released a book detailing his life before, during and after the war.
