AISD board to consider broad range of items
Alvarado school trustees will consider a litany of items, including approval of a power management solution for technology equipment, their meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the AISD board room, 110 N. Bill Jackson Dr.
Among other consideration items are a wastewater treatment plant generator, food service management company, construction budget amendments, approval of a bid for data center racks and power enclosures, and purchase of handwriting materials.
Also on the agenda are:
* Recognition of the Alvarado Junior High one-act play
* Student and teacher perfect attendance recognition
* Alvarado High teacher recognition
* An update on campus enrollment
* A new after-school program
* Financial, construction and operations reports
* A closed session relating to personnel matters

CISD board to hear TAKS test results
Cleburne school trustees will hear reports on TAKS test results and online curriculum for 2009-10 and beyond at Monday’s regularly scheduled board meeting beginning at 6 p.m. in the CISD bopard room, 505 N. Ridgeway.
The board will also hear the monthly report from TEA monitor Dr. Monte Geren, and consider approval of a macroeconomics course for 2009-10 and a change in local policy on employee recognitions and awards.
In other business, the board will:
zx Hear budget, investment, tax office and construction reports.
zx Address a board resolution naming an investment officer and a report on resignations and auxiliary hiring.
zx Address approval of the 2009-10 district calendar, annual licensing fee for Skyward, a bid for classroom projectors, Hill College tuition funding and employment of personnel.

Burleson trustees may appoint naming committee
Burleson school trustees will consider a naming committee for the new elementary school at Wakefield and attendance zone realignment committee recommendations at Monday’s special called meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the BISD board room at 1160 S.W. Wilshire Blvd.
The board will also address:
* Termination of employment, reduction in force.
* Turf Projects at the second high school and at Elk Stadium.
* Construction improvements at South Hurst Road
* Budget reduction strategy list
* Teacher and administrator employment
* Principal recommendation for Norwood Elementary School

Two races contested in Joshua City Council election
City Council elections for places 2, 4 and 6 will be held May 9.
The Place 2 incumbent Glen Walden is running unopposed; Place 4 incumbent Butch Maxfield will face A.J. Mathieu and Larry Taylor, and Place 6 incumbent Bob Neely is challenged by Larry Allen.
Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted from April 27 to May 5 at City Hall, 101 South Main St.
Early voting hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Extended early voting hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. will be offered April 27 and April 29.
On Election Day, polls will be located at the Joshua High School Community Room, 907 South Broadway, and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
