Focal Point: Children’s Advocacy Center’s Roping the Stars dinner
Stars from all over came to the Norris ranch arena Friday night to support the Children’s Advocacy Center during its annual Cowboys for Kids fundraiser weekend. Professional rodeo announcer Charlie Throckmorton served as emcee, and former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jay Novacek was the keynote speaker.
Attendees enjoyed a barbecue dinner prepared by Halliburton and bid on 13 live auction packages and more than 40 silent auction items. Cleburne country singer Sonny Burgess performed several songs, including “Cleburne, This is Texas,” a song written to help promote the city.
