Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a third jailer on a charge of bringing prohibited substances into a correctional facility, Johnson County Sheriff Bob Alford said.

Deputies arrested Frederick T. Jepsen, 33, of Cleburne on March 6 and booked him into the Johnson County Corrections Center. Jepson was later released the same day on a $5,000 bond. Before his arrest, Jepson worked as a jailer at the JCCC.

Deputies previously arrested jailers Shelley Jepsen, 28, Frederick Jepsen’s wife, and Wilford Waters, 51, both of Cleburne on Feb. 29 on the same charges. Shelley Jepsen received an additional charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon. She and Waters have since bonded out of jail.

An internal investigation overseen by the sheriff’s office and Johnson County’s Stop the Offender Program Special Crimes Unit culminated in the arrests of all three jailers for allegedly bringing contraband into the jail. Items brought in included tobacco, marijuana, dangerous drugs and other items, according to reports.
