Stabbing victim improves
Suspect, 41, is charged with attempted murder
A Grandview man who reportedly stabbed his ex-wife’s boyfriend March 1 in the parking lot of McDonald’s in Alvarado turned himself in Monday to the Alvarado Police Department and has been charged with attempted murder, Alvarado Police Chief John Allen said.
The victim, 37-year-old Ramiro Rubi, has improved from critical condition and will probably survive, Allen said. He was stabbed near the heart.
Reynaldo Ceniceros Huerta, 41, has been charged with attempted murder and was released Tuesday from the Johnson County Corrections Center in Cleburne on a $50,000 bond.
Maria Martinez, 37, was eating inside the McDonald’s late that morning with her parents when the group looked out the window and saw Martinez’s ex-husband, Huerta, pull his vehicle up behind Rubi’s vehicle, Allen said.
“Rubi and Huerta got out and confronted each other,” Allen said. “At that time Mr. Huerta stabbed Mr. Rubi and then got back in his truck and drove off.”
Apparently Rubi and the Martinezes did not think Rubi was seriously injured, Allen said, because all four drove down the street to the EZ-Mart at North Cummings and U.S. 67, where they parked and went inside.
Officers were dispatched to the EZ-Mart at 12:53 p.m. in response.
Rubi had lost a lot of blood and was in shock when officers Brad Anderson, Andy Brentlinger and John Thacker arrived from the Alvarado Police Department.
Rubi was taken to Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital in critical condition.
Huerta refused to discuss the case with police, saying he wanted to speak to his attorney, Allen said.
Alvarado Detective Clint Murphy is investigating the case. District Attorney Dale Hanna, the Cleburne Police Department crime search team and Judge Jerry Webber also assisted in the case, Allen said.
