Holiday events rescheduled after weekend winter ice storm
North Texas’ weekend ice age forced the cancellation of some holiday festivities in Johnson County — such as the Downtown Cleburne Association’s Festival of Lights Parade and Burleson Rotary Club’s 2013 Christmas Parade and the city’s Christmas tree lighting and fireworks show. But plenty of other events were rescheduled.
City council approves permit for go-kart track
After months of starts and stops, plans to open a go-kart track in east Cleburne appear to be back on track. Cleburne City Council members, during their Tuesday meeting, conditionally approved a special use permit to allow the land to be used as a go-kart track and entertainment facility.

AxoGen announces Burleson distribution facility
The city of Burleson and AxoGen Inc., a company that creates surgical solutions for peripheral nerve repair, have forged an agreement that will see AxoGen opening a new national distribution facility within the Burleson city limits as early as the first quarter of 2014, according to a report published Wednesday by BioNews Texas.
BISD gets opinion on audit
Paul Fitts, a CPA and partner for Weaver accounting firm, on Monday told Burleson ISD board members that his firm’s recent audit showed no significant problems with the district’s finances and accounting. He said his firm is giving the district “an unqualified opinion, also called a clean opinion.”
