A traffic stop led to Monday night's shooting that resulted in one person being flown to a Fort Worth hospital, Cleburne Police Department Detective Kelly Summey said.
An officer conducted a traffic stop near Franklin and Poindexter streets.
The passenger, a male, had a weapon and got into a struggle with an officer who subsequently shot the man, Summey said.
The officer was not injured but the man, whose name has not been released, was flown to a Fort Worth hospital via CareFlite helicopter in unknown condition.
Investigation into the matter continues, Summey said on Monday night. Police have not released the driver's name nor whether any charges have been filed against that person.
Summey said she was not yet sure of the reason for the traffic stop.
