Gala collects more than $150K for programs

The numbers are in and they are good, said this year’s Black & White Gala chair, MC Davis.

Attendees of the 20th annual event, held Aug. 4 at the Fort Worth Omni Hotel, helped raise more than $150,000 for local programs, Shots for Tots, Know your PSA and Mammograms are a Must!, as well as an annual donation to the HOPE Medical and Dental Clinic.

Funds will also go toward the purchase of a Sim Man 3G simulated patient for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne.

“The stand-out this year was a very successful three minute challenge,” said Lesley Icenogle, manager of special events for the Texas Health Harris Methodist Foundation. “We are right at $25,000. Of that, $10,000 is a match from Liberty Hotel and Caddo Street Grill.”

This year brought two new ways for guests to get involved, with the $25 pick-a-package and a wine pull. Some people walked away with expensive bottles of wine and one lucky winner from the pick-a-package went home with a $1,000 Visa gift card.
