An investigation of a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of a Cleburne man on two charges on Monday.
A Cleburne officer responded at 10:01 p.m. to the 1400 block of Mimosa Street to find a vehicle “shaking,” according to reports.
The officer found a man, 27, and a girl, 16, in the vehicle who told the officer they are dating.
The officer arrested the man, Ramon Luna III, on a charge of enticing a child with intent to commit a felony. Further investigation found Luna to be in possession of child pornography, according to reports, and police also charged him with that crime.
Reports do not indicate how police came to know that Luna allegedly possessed child pornography and police said they are not ready to release those details since the case remains under investigation.
Johnson County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Ronny McBroom placed $5,000 bonds on each of Luna’s charges.
Woman suffers minor
injuries in house fire
A Joshua woman escaped a Thursday house fire with minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene, Joshua Fire Chief Wayne Baker said. The fire, however, rendered the woman’s home a total loss, Baker said.
Firefighters responded about 1:30 p.m. to the 900 block of Lanes End Road to find the home heavily involved.
The fire’s cause remains to be determined, Baker said. The woman was working on her computer when she heard noise in the front of the house and discovered her living room on fire, Baker said.
Firefighters from Cleburne, the Johnson County Emergency Services District No. 1 and Burleson also responded as did volunteers from Johnson County Emergency Support Services.
Cleburne police responded to reports of a fight in a restaurant bathroom at 12:36 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of West Henderson Street. Both alleged participants were separated by the time police arrived. One of the men allegedly involved told police the other alleged participant walked into the bathroom, confronted him and bet him $500 he could whip his [expletive deleted], according to reports.
