A 29-year-old Cleburne man suffered a broken wrist in a wreck on Tuesday. The accident occurred at the intersection of North Main and May streets about 4:41 p.m.
A car pulled out in front of the man’s motorcycle, causing him to slide across the road.
A CareFlite ambulance transported the man to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne. Additional details of his condition have not been released.
The driver of the car suffered no injuries in the accident.
Rescue workers transported the driver of an Infinity to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries after a wreck Monday. The two-vehicle accident occurred about 4 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Henderson Street.
The Infinity driver was pointed eastbound, stopped at a red light in the right lane of West Henderson Street. The driver of a Ford Taurus, also stopped at the light, was pointed westbound on West Henderson Street in the left turn lane.
The Infinity entered the intersection when the light turned green. The driver of the Taurus did the same, intending to turn onto Faircrest Drive but failing to yield right-of-way and striking the Infinity.
The Taurus driver was not hurt but did receive a citation for failure to yield right-of-way.
A single-vehicle wreck in the 700 block of North Brazos Avenue on Monday resulted in arrests of the driver and passenger.
The accident, involving a Dodge Caravan, occurred about 9:50 p.m.
The driver was traveling north on Brazos Avenue at a high rate of speed approaching Farm-to-Market Road 4. She disregarded a stop sign, traveled through the intersection into a ditch, became airborne and struck a fire hydrant. Coming out of the ditch, the Dodge once again went airborne and struck a pole holding three mailboxes before it landed and came to rest on South Brazos Avenue.
Neither occupant suffered injury, but a witness identified Dorothy Lee Wilson, 52, of Cleburne as the driver. Police arrested her on a charge of driving while intoxicated. The passenger, Robert James Hibbler Jr., 62, of Cleburne was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
Robbery update
Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Ronny McBroom on Wednesday magistrated a Cleburne man charged with aggravated robbery.
An early Tuesday morning traffic stop led to the arrest of Bruce Washington, 22.
Police initially charged Washington with possession of marijuana and outstanding Cleburne traffic tickets. They called detectives to the scene, however, since Washington matched the description of the person suspected in the Sept. 18 robbery of Big Willy’s on East Henderson Street.
In that robbery, a man entered the store shortly after midnight armed with a gun and demanded money from the clerk.
Police were able to identify Washington based on a description supplied by the victim and video from the store’s surveillance cameras, Cleburne Sgt. Amy Knoll said.
McBroom set Washington’s bail at $100,000 on the aggravated-robbery charge and $500 on the marijuana charge. Washington remains jailed at the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center. McBroom was unable to magistrate Washington on Tuesday because police were still interviewing him.
The driver of the car Washington was riding in, Prabhat Singh Katuwal, 22, of Cleburne, was also arrested after police found him to be in possession of a stolen handgun.
McBroom magistrated Katuwal on Tuesday morning on the charge of theft of a firearm and set his bail at $5,000. Katuwal has since bonded out of jail, McBroom said Wednesday.
Theft and damage calls
A woman on East Chambers Street reported Monday that, during the past month, someone has taken about $3,000 out of her account at First National Bank of Texas.
The tale of a lost wallet ended unhappily on Monday. A man reported that he lost his wallet in a store in the 1600 block of West Henderson Street. Someone later found the wallet in the trash can of the store’s bathroom. Unfortunately, they did not find the $370 that had been in the wallet.
A woman on Woodard Avenue reported Tuesday that someone entered her home and stole her prescription medication.
Police responded to the 1600 block of Crestridge Drive at 4:12 p.m. the same day. Someone damaged a door frame and handle at the home.

Officials, residents remember those who gave it all
A robust breeze alleviated the heat somewhat Monday morning at Cleburne Memorial Cemetery, but also played pandemonium with the setting up of a memorial table for POW and MIA veterans. Wind tipped a vase holding a single rose shattering it on the pavement. A hastily retrieved replacement held out but at one point toppled causing water to spill inches shy of the public announcement speaker.
