Saturday marks the release of the third single by Cleburne’s own Jimmy Jones Band, Jones’ publicist Bobbie Johnson announced Monday.
The idea for the new single, “Roam,” first occurred to Jones last winter while driving back to Cleburne from Alvarado.
“It started as I remember the feelings felt when you are anticipating seeing your soulmate,” Jones said. “To start, it’s pretty much a power love ballad that illustrates how the power of love between two hearts cannot be contained.
“The band toyed around with this idea in practice a few times before the song came to life.”
Both of Jones’ previous singles placed in the Top 100 of the Texas Regional chart with the first, “Senorita,” remaining on the chart for 16 weeks and the second, “Somewhere Next To Nowhere,” for eight.
“Roam” will be available on iTunes on Tuesday and for sale at the release party, which begins at 9 p.m. at Chances, 3121 N. Main St. in Cleburne.
Jones said that the band, acting on the belief that everyone at some point in their life has experienced love, is taking a leap of faith that their fans will relate to the song’s powerful message and that those still waiting on that special someone can tap into a sense of what true love feels like.
