A woman who backed her car into a metal fencing at the Cleburne Wal-Mart on Tuesday suffered no injuries, according to Cleburne Fire Department reports.
Firefighters found the car trunk-first into doors of a metal gate area the store uses as a garden area. The impact damaged the area’s doors, frame and overhead structure. The doors were damaged so badly they had to be cut off, according to reports. Firefighters also removed an electrical component, which was knocked off at its base by the car for safety reasons.
The woman apparently stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal while backing up and took out several Christmas trees before crashing into the building, rescue workers said. The woman’s car sustained minor damage and a flat tire.

Fireworks or a camp fire may have caused a fire Saturday at Lake Pat Cleburne. Firefighters found remains of both afterwards but located no witnesses or suspects.
Firefighters responded to the brush fire along the lake’s east side at 11:48 p.m. They discovered a small, wooded section between Thunder Bay Road and the lake’s east shoreline burning. The burning area, consisting of heavy undergrowth and downed, rotting trees, spread slowly and was easily contained.
Firefighters required about 2,500 gallons of water, 20 gallons of foam and two hours to overhaul the fire, hit hot spots and complete suppression operations.
