‘Christmas Carol’ opens Saturday

Plaza Theatre Company began its production of “A Christmas Carol” on Saturday at the Cleburne theater, 208 S. Main St.
Plaza’s version is adapted from the original book by Charles Dickens by JaceSon P. Barrus.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and 3 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 22. Reserved seats are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors and $7 for children 12 and under.

The play tells the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who loathes Christmas and refuses to show any kindness to those around him. One dark Christmas eve, Scrooge is taken on a ghostly ride through his past, present and future and learns the meaning of Christmas and that a soul can change.
The play is under the direction of JaceSon and Tina Barrus with musical direction by Wes Bourland and musical assistance by Amy Atkins. Choreography is by the Barruses. The other crew members are:
