A CareFlite helicopter transported a 4-year-old boy to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Dallas on Wednesday after a car struck him while he was riding his bicycle in Cleburne.
Details of the boy’s condition have not been released, but police said his injuries did not appear life threatening.
Before the wreck the boy and several friends apparently were riding bikes in the boy’s driveway in the 1300 block of Roberts Avenue in Cleburne, police said. The boy rode in front of a woman driving a Hyundai Elantra, police said.
Brandon Tarron, a neighbor, said his children were riding bikes also and ran into his house with news of the accident. Tarron said the boy was initially lying in the street unconscious but had regained consciousness and was talking by the time rescue workers arrived.
The car’s driver, who has not been charged or ticketed, was on the phone with 911 when he arrived on the scene, Tarron said.
