Final game to be played in Owl Stadium



The Joshua Owls will host Arlington Seguin at 7:30 tonight in the final game to be played at Fighting Owl Stadium.

A new stadium, being constructed east of the present stadium, is due to open next summer.

Halftime ceremonies are planned tonight to honor alumni football players, band members, cheerleaders, dance team members, twirlers and pep squad members.

Information on halftime festivities will be available at the front gate. Designated seating will be available for all alumni.

Two arrested for trespass at Joshua HS



Law enforcement officers arrested two men spotted on the roof of Joshua High School Tuesday and charged both with criminal trespass. Police are still seeking three other suspects who fled the scene. Joshua police and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies participated in the arrests and investigation.

Police arrived at about 9:15 p.m. after a member of the school’s cleaning crew reported hearing footsteps on the roof. Officers secured the area after spotting individuals on the roof and captured Josh Still and Shane Wilson, both 18. The remaining three suspects ran off.

Officers inspected the roof and building but could not determine if the suspects had attempted entry into the building.

Three-car wreck sends three to hospital



Three occupants of a Honda Odyssey were transported to John Peter Smith Hospital Tuesday after a wreck involving three vehicles.

A helicopter transported Dep Nguyen, 41, of Haltom City, and ambulances transported Hou Lep, 39, and Kim Pham, 47, both of Haltom City. Details about their conditions have not been released.

The accident occurred at 9:08 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Main Street in Cleburne. The Odyssey was traveling southbound on North Main Street in the center lane while a Honda Accord traveling southbound in the right-hand lane was just ahead of the Odyssey, according to police reports.

A northbound Dodge Ram in the center lane attempted to turn into a private drive but failed to yield right of way and struck the Odyssey, which in turn struck the Honda.

Neither occupant of the other vehicles suffered injury, police said. Police cited the Dodge driver for failure to yield right of way and for failure to provide proof of insurance.
