Rainfall in June below average

June marks the second month in a row of below-average rainfall. Although the normal average rainfall for May and June is 9.02 inches, only 3.2 inches was recorded in May and June. Rainfall was recorded on just three days during the month.
The total rainfall for the year is 16.04 inches, which is 3.76 inches below normal.
The high temperature for June was 100 degrees, which occurred on June 18. The first 100 degree day in 2007 occurred on Aug. 12. In 2007 only four days reached the century mark. The month’s low temperature of 67 occurred on June 3. The temperature reached 90 degrees 13 days during the month. The average temperature for the month was 73.5 degrees, which is near normal.
