Joshua man injured in two-vehicle accident in Godley

By Matt Smith/msmith@trcle.com

A two-vehicle accident in Godley Friday morning left one man seriously injured and caused major damage to his car, said Sgt. Joe McCready of the Godley Police Department.

A CareFlite helicopter transported Jonathan Henry, 25, of Joshua to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Henry was badly injured in the wreck, McCready said. His condition is listed as serious, a JPS spokeswoman said.

The wreck occurred about 7 a.m. in the 11000 block of Farm-to-Market Road 2331 and Cotton Trail.

Henry was traveling southbound on FM 2331 in his Chevrolet Metro, about to turn onto Cotton Trail, when a 1997 Dodge welders truck rear-ended him, McCready said. The driver of the Dodge, Jerad York, 35, of Joshua, was not injured. York told police he looked away for a second and looked back right before colliding with Henry. York recieved a ticket for failure to control his speed.
