The Cleburne Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new staff member Monday.
Kim Wiley of Burleson has joined the staff as the communication and event coordinator.
“We’re very excited to have Kim join the chamber family,” said Cathy Marchel, chamber president. “She brings with her a great deal of knowledge and enthusiasm.”
Wiley graduated from Mesquite High School. She graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Ark., with a degree in family and consumer sciences and moved to Kentucky and Tennessee before returning to Texas.
Wiley worked for a behavioral health company in Tennessee, where she served as the program and community outreach liaison for Project SELF, an alcohol and drug treatment program.
She also went through the Leadership Murray program with her local chamber.
“So I have knowledge of the chamber, what it does and how important it is,” Wiley said.
At the chamber, she will be responsible for the newsletter, Web site, weekly scoop and planning all the events. Her first major event will be the Business Expo, to be held May 5 at Nolan River Mall.
“As an employee of the chamber, I am hoping to promote the businesses in Cleburne and help promote the community to the best of my ability,” she said.
Outside of work, Wiley enjoys reading and exercising, she said. She also was involved in community theater in Tennessee. She attends Burleson Church of Christ.
She has two children, Parker, 9, and Amilia, 6. Both children attend North Joshua Elementary School.
“I am blessed to have a great chamber staff whose mission is to promote business and the Cleburne community,” Marchel said.
