Alvarado Police Department reported at about 1:07 p.m., Friday that the First Financial Bank located on U.S. 67 in Alvarado was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Witnesses said one black male entered the bank wearing a dark colored “hoodie” and displayed a gun before demanding the cash.
Once the man had secured the cash, he left the bank and entered a Black Acura four-door displaying Texas license NHF 516. When the vehicle was last seen, witnesses advised it was occupied by two other subjects.
Witnesses described one of the other subjects in the Acura as a white male but were unable to provide a description of the other occupant.
Witnesses also said the black Acura was last seen westbound on U.S. 67 traveling toward Keene.
A combination of officers and deputies from Alvarado PD, Keene PD and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office converged on the area in search of the vehicle.
An extensive search of the area from the bank to west of Keene was conducted to try to locate the suspect vehicle.
At about 2:01 p.m. Sheriff Bob Alford, who was part of the search party, located the suspect vehicle parked behind Alvarado Drug.
The license plate had been removed from the vehicle. Alvarado responded to the scene and took custody of the vehicle.
Anyone who possesses information about this offense or may have observed something that may be of benefit in the investigation is asked to contact the Alvarado Police Department at 817-790-3345.
