Splash Station fees might increase

Vehicle purchase, land sale also on agenda

By Matt Smith/msmith@trcle.com

Cleburne City Council members Tuesday will discuss Splash Station, vehicle purchases and the sale of city land.

The Cleburne 4B Economic Development Corp. recently recommended changing Splash Station’s winter Swim Fit hours from 5-7 p.m. Monday through Friday to 4-6 p.m. the same days. They also recommended doing away with the evening 5-7 p.m. Monday through Friday Summer Fit Swim classes.

Changing the hours requires council approval.

Council members also plan to discuss proposed fee changes for Splash Station.

The council will vote on Dallas Dodge’s $122,544 bid for seven fleet vehicles.

It will also consider selling a parcel of city-owned land, 313 Country Club Drive, at auction. The city attempted to sell the land twice through sealed bids but received no response.

Other scheduled agenda items include:

zx A vote to enter an agreement with Johnson County to use voting machines for the May 10 city election and a vote to agree to share voting locations with Cleburne ISD, which also holds elections May 10.

zx Consideration of an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation and Fort Worth & Western Railroad to install a roadway median in the railroad right-of-way on Industrial Boulevard and Texas 171. TxDOT plans to install a traffic light at the location.

zx Filling vacant seats on the building standards commission and animal shelter advisory board.

The Cleburne City Council meets 7 p.m. at city hall, 10 N. Robinson St. A 4:30 p.m. workshop precedes the meeting.
