Commissioners discussing curfew

By Leia Jobe/reporter2@trcle.com

Johnson County commissioners will hold a public hearing Monday to discuss the juvenile curfew for unincorporated areas of the county.

The curfew was established in 1995 and renewed in 2006.

Commissioners are scheduled to hear a final update from architects Alan Magee and Darrell Durant on the Johnson County Courthouse restoration.

Commissioners might approve early voting and election day polling locations for the April 8 Democratic primary run-off election for a state railroad commissioner seat. Dale Henry and Mark Thompson bested Art Hall but neither won the seat outright in the March 4 primary election.

In other business, commissioners will consider appointing a fire marshal for Springfest, which is April 26 in Cleburne.

David Jesowitz of Alvarado will be considered for the Johnson County Welfare Board.

Community members will participate in the presentation of proclamations for March and April awareness months.

Vinsen Faris, Amy Jackson and Lisa Hicks of Meals-on-Wheels of Johnson and Ellis Counties will be present for March for Meals Awareness Month.

DeeAnn Derrick of the Family Crisis Center will be present to help proclaim April Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.

In a workshop session, commissioners might discuss use of buildings, home disaster relief program services, health insurance programs and a tract of school property.

An executive session is scheduled to discuss a personnel matter involving Patty Bourgeois for the elections office.
