The sooner Obama and his czars are ousted, the better

Dear Editor:

I feel slightly optimistic this morning, after seeing the elections results from Virginia and New Jersey.

There appears to be a possibility that the people in America have realized that they made a mistake in electing a president who had no experience at anything but intimidation and oratory.

We cannot slow down or stop our efforts to remove him and his cronies from public office before they can accomplish anymore harmful “changes.”

When Democrats talk about the American people wanting health care reform, they ignore the fact that the American people are 85 percent satisfied with their current care.

It is true there are those who need assistance, especially those with pre-existing conditions, but Obama and the Democrat’s desire to include all illegal aliens, currently referred to as “unregistered Democratic voters,” is not because of their benevolence but their desire to retain their positions of power.

Simply allowing cross-state policy purchasing along with the ability to take a current policy with you when you change jobs, would be of great benefit, as would the reining in of predatory lawsuits.

We need to fix problems that exist, not kill the current system.

There are so many challenges to our democratic system coming from the socialist left that it would take the entire newspaper to cover them all.

So I will concentrate today on the quality of several of more than two dozen czars that Obama has appointed to run and ruin our country.

Great Lakes Czar Cameron Davis is Chicago radical antibusiness environmentalist. Blames George Bush for poisoning the water minorities’ drink and has no experience or training in water management but is a former ACORN member.

Science Czar John Holdren is a fiercely ideological environmentalist, member of the Sierra Club and an antibusiness activist. Has no science training and claims America’s businesses caused the world’s poverty.

Regulatory Czar Cass Sustein is a liberal activist judge who believes free speech needs to be limited for the common good. Ruled against many personal freedoms including private gun ownership.

TARP Czar Herb Allison is a Fannie Mae CEO who was largely responsible for the loss of millions of people’s life savings after using toxic real estate mortgages to gamble in the stock market.

Terrorism Czar John Brennan is an anti-CIA activist with no training in diplomacy or government. He believes in open borders with Mexico, dialog with terrorists, and has suggested that Obama disband U.S. military.

Technology Czar Aneesh Chopra has no technology training but worked for the Advisory Board Company, a health care think tank for hospitals that supports Obama’s health care, is an antidoctor activist and believes in salaried doctors working exclusively for the government health care plan.

Stimulus Accountability Czar Earl Devany’s main career has been trying to take guns away from American citizens and believes in an open border with Mexico. Blames American gun stores for causing drug war in Mexico.

Weapons Czar Ashton Carter is a leftist who wants all private weapons in America destroyed and supports United Nations ban on private firearms ownership in America. Has no other policy.

AIDS Czar Jeffery Crowley is openly homosexua and an activist for gay rights and believes in gay marriage and special status for gays including free health care.

Auto Recovery Czar Ed Montgomery is a black radical antibusiness activist, advocates affirmative action and job preferences for blacks. A University of Maryland Business School Dean who teaches that U.S business has caused the world’s poverty, also an ACORN member and Communist DuBois club member.

I hate to say it but Hillary Clinton is probably the most pro-American of Obama’s appointees. And that is scary.

Joshua voters showed class in difficult situation

Dear Editor:

I was the election judge at the Community Room, where all Joshua precincts voted Tuesday.

We had a steady stream of voters all day, more than twice the turnout expected.

We ran out of ballots at 4:15 p.m. and received more just as the last two were used.

Unfortunately, because of secretary of state formulas on how many ballots our elections administrator was allowed to order, we ran out again at 5:15 p.m.

While we waited for ballots to be created and delivered to us, which took almost an hour, more than 60 people waited patiently and courteously to vote.

Nobody griped at my workers, gave up and went home, or caused any type of commotion during the long wait.

They assisted the wonderfully helpful Joshua city election officials set up chairs so those who couldn’t stand for extended periods could sit comfortably.

When we finally received the ballots, and I started handing them out, there was no mad rush or pushing or shoving but polite waiting, passing to others, sharing of pens and pencils and the limited tables and chairs.

The citizens of Joshua should be very proud of their exemplary behavior in a potentially volatile situation.

My staff and I were very grateful for the kind treatment we received and the orderly manner people responded to our dilemma.

Traffic was a safety issue, and I called Sheriff Bob to send a deputy to help direct traffic.

The deputy responded quickly and helped maintain an orderly flow when the large crowd began to exit the parking lot.

Thanks to Sheriff Alford and his deputy for their quick response and service.

By the way, we’ll make certain there are plenty of ballots for the March primary elections, regardless of “formulas” that dictate what we can order.

And this is the perfect opportunity to remind everyone to vote early to avoid lines, last-minute schedule problems, running out of supplies, and trying to figure out which polling place to go to.

Frustrated am I

Dear Editor:

While our service personnel are giving their lives overseas to offer the founding principles of this country to millions of less fortunates, what efforts are we comfortable ones doing to protect those principles here that they are fighting for over there?

I have been getting more and more frustrated at the way things are going in our country.

I don’t like being angry but am because of all of the misleading information and downright untruths that are thrown around by our elite elected and other self-anointed and appointed spokesmen.

Frustration describes the general feeling of much of the public from what I can interpret, and I realize that it is impossible for me to be a strict party partisan.

The Republicans who were in charge of our country for eight years started off pretty well, but 9-11 events altered their course drastically.

That fateful day got us all charged up, and we went overboard, ready to whip any group in the world who might have caused that sorryful event.

We, as a country, were together for the first time in years, but that condition soured as political ambition and unrelenting partisanship resumed its course in Congress as each party sought to defeat the efforts of the other, so we all suffered.

Our then president was chastised and ridiculed for both the good things and the lesser things that occurred.

The Republicans had golden opportunities to get things together as the majority party of the time but could not maintain strict concentration and efficiency on all counts and received little assistance in the right directions from the Democrats.

It seemed that the majority of media sources did more liberal politicking than event reporting.

This was, in fact, a big factor in splitting the country.

Now, I hear that some newspapers and magazines are in financial difficulties, maybe because of the truth-stretching and selective reporting as well as the fickle public finding other available news sources, but also because of a faltering economy.

Some radio and TV channels and commentators have picked sides with either liberal or conservative agendas varying from moderate to radical.

The White House undercover czars may now be looking for pseudo-legal ways to pressure news organizations who offer conservative philosophies.

Who allows for these “Congressional nonapproved” czars, whoever they are?

Shades of Cosa Nostra.

Hate crime legislation aimed at stifling oppositional positions might even enter into some religious activities and topics as well as other areas heretofore covered by the bill of rights.

At any rate, Obama can’t take the heat as Bush had to.

This is the first real opposition that Obama has encountered in his adult life. The man with no plausible past and a very suspect agenda is showing some cracks.

This Liberal Democratic health and insurance bill being hashed out in Congress is most of the news now and does deserve much attention and study instead of being rushed through.

Historians say that this 2,000 pages of hard to decipher information that only legal professors can interpret is, if passed, another step towards socialism and certainly more government control.

Personally, this scares the heck out of me, and I am taking all of this very seriously.

Democratic Congressman Chet Edwards says he is reading and studying this bill and won’t vote for any bill taking rights from citizens.

I like Chet and what he does for veterans, but can he withstand party pressure?

Sen. John Cornyn will surely vote against this bill. Sen. Hutchison will do the same if she isn’t somewhere in Texas campaigning for the governor’s seat.

The three know my feelings, what about yours?

Their addresses are printed often in this paper.

If you are concerned about any of the above facts and opinions, get your words to each of them, now.
