When Obama repeats untruths, he’s lying
Dear Editor:
Some people will take umbrage at me suggesting President Obama is a liar.
Last week when asked a direct question on TV, he answered that he wasn’t familiar with that area of the health plan bill.
What? He should be; he is touting it daily.
To me, when he makes untrue statements repeatedly, he is lying.
I watched him say again today on TV “that you will be able to keep your current health plan.”
Not so according to a CNN report.
He also makes several other statements that are completely opposite the statements in Congress’ actual plan.
Like Bill Clinton, Obama is a master at weaving words and saying nothing rather then being forthright and honest.
Access a computer and Google “5 freedoms lost in health plan CNN/Fortune Report.”
There are several summarizations.
I prefer the Motor City Times’ summary. It is amazing that CNN issued this report because they, like much of the media, worship Obama.
You should really read the rather short summary completely because the bill from both houses is about 2,000 pages and apparently beyond even the ability of a Harvard graduate to comprehend.
This bill will cost young people dearly because they will be mandated to take out high-priced insurance as dictated by the government and not the cheaper high deductible they choose today.
The rest of us will regret it during what’s left of our lives if this mess is allowed to become law because we old ones are going to suffer.
Ex-Sen. Daschle was quoted by Bloomberg as saying, “Health care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.”
Remember, Congress will still have its free, lifetime, unlimited health plan and not be subject to what they force on us, which sounds suspiciously similar to taxation without representation by modern day royalty.
It is possible for the government to initiate help for those with pre-existing conditions, who are the majority of the uninsurable legal citizens, without ruining health care for the rest of us and bankrupting America.
For those who cannot access a computer, here are the main five headings of what you will eventually lose.
zx Freedom to keep your existing plan
zx Freedom to choose what is in your plan
zx Freedom to choose your doctors
zx Freedom to choose high-deductible coverage
zx Freedom to be rewarded for your healthy living, or to pay your real costs
So you all, liberal Democrats included, had better get the attention of your congressmen and put the fear of God in them because this change will be disastrous for all of us who get sick, especially the old.
And if they ignore us again, as they did on financial bailouts when more than 90 percent of the taxpayers objected, and pass this mess, then it may well be time for another revolution.
You can start by calling our representative, Chet Edwards, at 817-645-4743.

Surely Hill didn’t mean what he wrote
Dear Editor:
Surely Billy Hill was writing with sarcasm when he wrote his Letter to the Editor that was printed in Sunday’s Cleburne Times-Review.
I certainly hope no one, including Mr. Hill, is uninformed enough to actually believe what Mr. Hill wrote.
I am counting on Mr. Hill knowing that our current U.S. representative struck a deal with Nancy Pelosi so he could vote at the very end, only after there were enough votes for the cap and tax bill to pass.
Yes, he struck that deal with the same Nancy Pelosi, super-liberal speaker of the House, who supported our rep for the vice president spot on Barack Obama’s ticket.
And, we are talking about the same rep who endorsed Barack Obama for president.
The same rep who regularly gloats about his pork-barrel projects in this very paper.
I will give our current representative one thing: He is a very smart politician.
That’s about as far as it goes. He is a horrible representative for Central Texas.
He believes in a massive federal government that will control every aspect of your life.
He believes in raising taxes on you and me to pay for that massive government.
He believes in taking the money you work hard to earn and giving it to people who choose to be lazy and not get a job.
He lies to us and tells us he is a conservative Democrat, then goes to Washington D.C. and votes with Nancy Pelosi and the super-liberal Democrats.
We need new representation in Washington D.C.
We need a representative who believes in the same things we believe in here in Central Texas.
Things like small government, low taxes, a strong military, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and all the other things that are guaranteed in our United States Constitution.
Our current U.S. rep is trying to take these things away from us.
It’s time we stand up and tell him to pack his bags.
We don’t need him representing us in D.C. any more. We need a true conservative in D.C.
Remember this when it’s time to vote in November 2010.
