Having checked out Lt. Col. (Ret.) Brian Birdwell, I decided to do the same with his opponent. Mr. David Sibley is a well-groomed, polished individual that always says the right thing. The problem for me is I decided some time ago not to vote for career politicians. When Brian Birdwell decided to run, things changed for me. Men like Birdwell don’t come along often. I would support Birdwell no matter what office he was running for.
His military background and horrible, unique experience, being burned alive at the Pentagon during 9/11, have prepared this man to lead at a time when this state and nation desperately needs strong men and women of integrity to bring common sense back to politics.
You are not assigned to the Pentagon unless you have a lot on the ball. “The Tea Parties” across the country have proven that people are fed up with the “same-ole” politics as usual. If you have not figured out this country is in a fight for its life, then I feel sorry for you. We are losing our freedoms on a daily basis.
The old saying, “you can fool some of the people all of the time,” is alive and well as the apathy by many is sad. Politics as usual won’t get the job done. We have to draw a line in the sand and say “no more.”
Abraham Lincoln said, “I must stand with anybody that stands right and stand with him while he is right and part with him when he goes wrong.”
Our Constitution was written by Christians for Christians and too many of the people in Washington and Austin don’t fit the bill. Don’t kid yourself, as one leading businessman recently said, “Politics in Austin is just as corrupt as in Washington.” If you want a career politician, Sibley is your man. However, if you want a man who announced he was running less than eight weeks before the special election and yet received 36 percent of the vote while being outspent more than 4 to 1, Birdwell is your man.
All I’m saying is once you get to know Brian, you will support him. You can make a difference by actually voting and getting 10 of your friends to vote. I’m going to support and vote for, in my opinion, the best man in this race, Brian Birdwell.
