Sports Complex needs more care

Dear Editor:

I’d like to know who is in charge of the upkeep and maintenance  on the Sports Complex out by the cemetery. They are not doing a very good job of it. All the baseball fields are in very bad shape, especially home plate and the pitchers mound. They need to be redone very badly, especially on Field 6. And the scoreboard on Field 6 needs to be fixed. On several occasions it hasn’t worked at all. Everything else about the complex seems to be fine. It seems to me, we as taxpayers, could get this taken care of better than it is. After all, this is for our kids and grandkids.

Peggy Reed,

Cleburne

Dear Editor:

The Kiwanis of Cleburne wish to thank the local merchants that helped with the BUGs programs at Coleman and Santa Fe elementary schools on May 25-26. The merchants making donations were CiCi’s Pizza, Pin Center Bowl, McDonald’s, Jack In The Box, Dairy Queen and The Card and Party Factory.

Thank you,

Marlene Gatewood
