Goodfellows needs more donations
Dear Editor:
There is barely a chill in the air, but there are some parents in Cleburne who are already concerned as to how they are going to provide Christmas for their children this year. As we all know the needs of our nation have never been greater yet history has proven that when Americans are in need, they unite and pull together. Cleburne is no exception. When the call goes out our community has always stepped to the plate.
Goodfellows has become a philanthropic tradition of the Cleburne Christmas season and vital to many needy families. More than 200 volunteers are currently working hard to gather toys and solicit donations so that we are able to meet the needs of hundreds of local children.
This letter is a reminder to past, present and future sponsors to be sure and keep Goodfellows a high priority on your Christmas list. Share your Christmas spirit with those less fortunate. Help us put smiles on children’s faces this Christmas. You will surely be blessed.
Please send your donation to Goodfellows, P.O. Box 1411, Cleburne, TX 76033.
Thank you,
Cleburne City Union of King’s Daughters and Sons
Thanks from Crain family
Dear Editor:
My family and I wish to thank everyone who visited, sat with us, comforted us at the hospital and all who called and lifted us up in prayer during my husband George’s illness. For Joe Boyd, Ken Pittman, Wanda Bullard and all the KEY Energy staff and personnel who have been so very kind and caring, I cannot give you enough thanks.
For the loving care George received at Heritage Trails from Scottie Sanders, RN, and the staff there, and for providing such a beautiful and comfortable room. It could not have been more perfect. For Carol Ripley and Darrell Tollover, the American Hospice nurses who kept him clean, stayed with him around the clock and gave him his dignity in his final hours, I am extremely grateful to you.
My family wishes to give a special and genuine thank you to each of you who attended the funeral in loving support of us, and the beautiful flowers and plants that were sent. Your kindness and friendship will not be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Mrs. George B. Crain
