Dear Editor:



The Johnson County 4-H Food Show committee recently held the county 4-H food show at Gerard Elementary School in Cleburne. The winners will go on to the District 4-H Food Show contest Oct. 27. The committee would like to especially thank the following businesses for their support in helping reward the winners of this contest: CiCi’s, Cotton Patch, Dairy Max, Southwest Dairy Farmers, West End Grill, Dairy Queen, Whataburger, Susannah’s, Golden Corral, Blockbusters and Texas Department of Agriculture. And all the individuals who made this a successful contest for the 4-H program.

Thanks to Alvarado Veterinary Clinic

Dear Editor:



Our family would like to publicly thank Dr. Bud Pearce and his staff at the Alvarado Veterinary Clinic for the care they provided for our Labrador retriever Jake. Jake was laid to rest this week because cancer had taken over his body. With their loving care and gentleness, Dr. Pearce and his staff made his last few days easier. Thank you again, and we will always be a loyal customer of your clinic.

Thanks from Phoenix school

Dear Editor:



We would like to thank Lowe’s Garden Center and Lawn Tech for the generous donation of lovely flowers to our school, the Phoenix School. The flowers were a positive addition to our open house Oct. 8, 2007. They made our outside entry very impressive. We would also like to thank Patrick’s Cleburne Floral for donating a beautiful flower arrangement for our open house.

The students at Phoenix School are practicing teamwork skills. Cleaning out the flower beds and planting the new flowers has helped us learn to work together and take ownership and have pride in our school. This has made a positive impact in our lives.

Thank you to the community for all of your support.
