Dear Editor:



Editors note: This is an open letter to Rio Vista athletes and the community.



Rio Vista Athletes and Community,



I wanted to write this letter to explain the events that caused our family to leave for other educational positions. First I want the kids and community to know that I did not pursue jobs during the past school year even though I was approached to do so. During the last week of school I was asked to apply for a principal’s job and did so with the intention that I was still going to be the athletic director at Rio Vista for some time to come.

When I went on the interview everything about the position seem to fall into place and my new position will also allow me to take care of my family. As a principal I am also fulfilling a goal I have had for myself for the past few years. In no way did I decide to take this job because of any turmoil associated with Rio Vista ISD. My time here has been very positive and my wife and I have never worked for or with administrators and teachers we liked any better.

I know that better days are ahead for the Eagles. It also makes it somewhat easier to leave knowing that the program was left on solid footing and the kids have done everything asked of them and are poised to have a great athletic year. The kids accomplished many things last year and I am very proud to have been a part of their success.

In closing Krissty and I would like to thank our administration, school board, fellow teachers and athletes for a great year and allowing us to be a part of Rio Vista ISD.
