Cleburne ISD rates academically acceptable

Two area schools attain recognized status

With five recognized campuses and five campuses rated academically acceptable, Cleburne ISD scored an academically acceptable overall rating from Texas Education Agency in accountability data relesed Friday afternoon.

Adams, Coleman, Marti, Gerard and Cooke elementareies were recognized. Santa Fe and Irving elementaries were acceptable, as were TEAM School, Wheat and Smith middle schools and Cleburne High.

Last year, Cleburne had three recognized campuses — Adams, Coleman and Gerard — and Santa Fe was unacceptable.

Grandview and Rio Vista were the only two Johnson County districts to be rated recognized. Last year, Grandview was recognized and Rio Vista academically acceptable.

Joshua ISD, academically acceptable overall, made strides, with three exemplary elementary campuses, two recognized elementaries and a recognized rating for Joshua High School. Loflin Middle School and the Accelerated Learning Center were academically acceptable.

At Grandview, the high school, junior high and intermediate were all exemplary. The high school was recognized and the alternative learning center academically acceptable.

At Rio Vista, the high school, middle school and elementary school were all recognized.

Burleson ISD was rated academically acceptable and barely missed recognized. The Academy at Nola Dunn and Frazier, Stribling, Bransom and Hajek elementaries were all exemplary. Kerr Middle School was recognized.

Brock and Norwood elementaries were academically acceptable, as were Burleson High and Hughes Middle School.

Venus was also academically acceptable. The high school, middle school, primary and elementary were all academically acceptable.
