Beating victim’s condition upgraded

The condition of Joshua beating victim Donna Martin Troutt has been upgraded to serious at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, a hospital spokesman said Monday.

Troutt, 51, had been listed in critical condition since Oct. 12 when she suffered life-threaqtening injuuries in a reported family violence incident at her home in the 1600 block of County Road 706.

Her son, Conner Lynn Troutt, 17, of Joshua was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence serious bodily injury, a first degree felony. Bond was set at $150,000.

Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Ronny McBroom also issued a protective order barring the suspect from being within 500 feet of the victim’s residence or John Peter Smith Hospital for 91 days.

Troutt was previously charged with assault family violence and theft in an unrelated incident. Those charges were dropped.
