Johnson County treasurer steps down

— Johnson County Treasurer Barbara Robinson has tendered her resignation, County Judge Roger Harmon said.

Harmon said Thursday that Robinson’s resignation was because of health reasons.

Robinson, a Republican, has held the office since 1994.

The four-term treasurer recently won a fifth term when she ran unopposed in the March primary.

Robinson graduated from Cleburne High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University.

“Johnson County has in the past given me the highest honor I think one can receive from another, a vote of confidence and a vote of trust,” she told the Times-Review in a Jan. 1 interview.

Johnson County Commissioners will consider her resignation in their regular meeting at 9 a.m. Monday in Room 201 of the Johnson County Courthouse in Cleburne.
