In a called meeting Tuesday, the Johnson County Commissioners Court accepted the resignation of Cole Lancaster, the Information Systems and Services Department director.
The approval to accept the resignation, which became effective immediately, came after a closed executive session lasting more than two hours.
Commissioners would not comment on the reason for the resignation, and there was no announcement of a replacement.
Precinct 1 Commissioner Rick Bailey, attending a conference in South Texas, was not present.
Although the published agenda included discussion of two other employees in the department, there was no action taken by the court.
According to the county’s Web site, the ISS department provides computer services, installation, configuration, implementation, and support for both hardware and software used throughout Johnson County departments and supports third-party software and customized application software.
The department also recommends policies and procedures for day-to-day computer operations which are related to system integration, data integrity, interoffice, inter-departmental and inter-agency automation and communication and provides strategic planning for future systems development.
The next regular scheduled meeting of the court is April 26.
