Officers responding to a burglary of a building Saturday on Farm-to-Market Road 917 in Joshua took two subjects into custody, according to Johnson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Johnny R. Cantu Sr. and Johnny R. Cantu Jr. were arrested in connection with theft of property, detailed as three 60-inch by 30-inch aluminum sign housings valued at $1,500, three 220-volt electric heaters valued at $1,050, and four Venta-Hood filters valued at $120. Detective Jody Augsburger investigateed.
Officers arrested a 46-year-old man, William P. Landmesser, in connection with a family violence call involving a father and daughter on U.S. 67 in Cleburne last Wednesday.
According to a sheriff’s office report, “Actor recklessly and negligently, due to intoxication, caused visible injury to victim by striking victim in face.”
Landmesser was charged with assault on a family or household member with previous conviction.
Officers were investigating a burglary of a building last Wednesday on County Road 1000 in Godley.
Someone entered storage building by breaking the lock and took eight feet of copper ground rod valued at $17.95, a case of about 20 combination padlocks valued at $500, a round lock valued at $25, a metal security door, and tools about 8 feet in length.
Last Wednesday on True Lane in Cleburne, officers responding to a family violence call involving a husband and wife arrested Brandy Lynn Cearley, 33, for assault by contact.
She is accused of pushing her husband, leaving red marks on the right side of his neck and chest.
On Wednesday on Ridgemar in Cleburne, a suspect is accused of punching the complainant in the arm and stomach.
On Wednesday on South Central in Joshua, someone entered a home and stole a .357 Smith & Wesson valued at $400, a Savage .16 gauge pump shotgun valued at $375, a Savage over and under rifle valued at $400, a Savage bolt action deer rifle valued at $250, a Remington .22 long rifle valued at $200, and miscellaneous jewelry valued at $7,000.
On Dec. 22 in Alvarado, a complainant said someone entered her residence and took a 42 inch television valued at $1,300.
On Dec. 1 on County Road 714 in Burleson, officers responded to a family violence call in which the suspect is accused of assaulting the complainant.

Rescue workers pull body from water
Alvarado and Cleburne firefighters pulled the body of a man from moving water near County Road 607 caused by rain about 1 p.m. Wednesday. The man attempted to cross a high-water crossing in his truck and became stuck, Cleburne Fire Chief Clint Ishmael said. According to reports, rescue workers saw the man in the water earlier Wednesday morning but were unable to reach him. The identity of the man has not been released.
