Cleburne police arrested seven people on Thursday after they alledgedly stole items from Nolan River Mall.

Police responded to the mall at 7:50 p.m. after receiving a report that a rocking chair had just been stolen from the mall.

The caller said the actors fled with in a vehicle with the chair, according to reports.

Police stopped a vehicle matching the description supplied near the intersection of Westhill and Sunset streets. They recovered the chair and other merchandise stolen from the mall, according to reports.

Police arrested Troy Don Rice, 38, of Keene and Carl Andrew McCready, 40, of Cleburne on charges of theft $1.500 or more with two or more previous convictions.

Also arrested were: Ismael Mendoza, 18, of Keene; Kevin Kimo Bell II, 18, of Cleburne; Jacob Lee Rice, 17, of Cleburne; Andrea Nicole McCullough, 32, of Keene; and Terri Lynn Rice, 36, of Keene.

All five were arrested on charges of theft $50-$500.

Hit and run

Police responded to several hit-and-run accidents over the past two weeks.

Someone struck a Chevrolet pickup on Oct. 17, which was parked, unoccupied, in a private drive in the 1100 block of East Henderson Street, according to reports.

The driver of the unknown vehicle fled the scene without notifying the owner, according to reports. The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m.

On Oct. 25, a second unknown vehicle struck a privacy fence at a residence in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue and left the scene without notifying the owner, according to reports.

A man reported on Sunday that a dark blue or black extended cab Chevrolet pickup struck his gold Chevrolet pickup and fled the scene, according to reports. The accident occurred at about 5 a.m. near Caddo and Second streets.

Halloween hijinx

A call of shots fired turned out to be exploding ice.

Police received the call about 8 p.m. Saturday and responded to the 400 block of West Wardville Street.

A man at the scene admitted to blowing up a dry ice bomb, according to reports. Police arrested Philip Matthew Legros, 23, of Cleburne on charges of possession of a prohibited item, explosive, and disorderly conduct language.

Police responded to the 300 block of Elmo Street at 1:56 a.m. Sunday.

A woman reported that someone threw frozen eggs and a beer bottle through her window. They also threw a frozen egg at her vehicle’s windshield, according to reports.

At 10:07 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 2200 block of North Main Street. Homeowners reported that someone stole the patio furniture off their porch overnight, according to reports.

Theft calls

Police responded to a business in the 600 block of West Henderson Street at 8:05 p.m. on Friday. A cashier at the store told police someone took $100 from him, according to reports.

Police responded to the 500 block of West Wilson Street on Oct. 25 on a report of a bicycle stolen from a front yard.

Police answered two calls involving stolen motorcycles on Thursday. The first occurred at 5:52 p.m. in the 200 block of Cleveland Street, the second at 8:35 p.m. in the 200 block of Rose Avenue.

Police responded to Texas Health Resources on Oct. 12 in reference to credit card theft.

Someone alledgedly stole the credit cards, or information, from the purses of nurses working in the surgery department, according to reports.

The four complainants determined that the actual theft occurred in August and grew suspicious when they told each other about charges they noticed on their accounts, according to reports.

Three of the complainants told police they just wanted to document the incident as the amount they lost was less than $20. The fourth reported a loss of about $1,000.

Police responded to Splash Station on Wednesday on a criminal mischief call.

Someone damaged a city vehicle by placing stickers on it, which damaged the paint when removed, according to reports.
