Fourth of July closings
Johnson County offices will be closed Friday in observance of Independence Day as will city offices in Alvarado, Burleson, Cleburne, Godley, Grandview, Keene, Joshua and Rio Vista.
Cleburne’s Splash Station will be open normal hours on Friday from 12-7 p.m. On Saturday, Splash Station will be open from 12-5 p.m.
The Burleson municipal pool at Chisenhall Park will be open from 1-7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Burleson Animal Shelter will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, but closed on Saturday. The Burelson Community Center will be closed both Friday and Saturday.

Happy birthday, Pat
Today’s birthday of the city’s namesake, Maj. Gen. Patrick Cleburne, will not be celebrated in any official capacity, according to city and chamber of commerce officials.

Caddo Indians topic of Museum Gallery Sunday
They lived here once with a strong presence and powerful voice, now diminished--the Caddo Indians. Layland Museum will present its annual cultural history event, “Caddo Indians,” at 2:30 p.m. March 28 in the new Cleburne Conference Center at 1501 W. Henderson. The event is free.

Relay For Life of Johnson County is still looking for sponsors. Corporate sponsors can donate money or goods, such as food, for the participants in exchange for recognition at the event.
