A Burleson man, 66, died Saturday along Winscott Plover Drive after his truck hit a tree. The man, Samuel Woods, died from his injuries sustained in the accident according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:02 p.m., according to the report.
According to Terry Grisham, a Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the slick road conditions could have been a contributing factor.
The call came in at 6:44 p.m. but it’s unclear if it was raining at the time, said Jerry Rucker, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office records manager.
“Unfortunately, the accident report has not been completed by the investigating deputy, and fatality accident reports usually take a long time to complete,” he said.
The case is still active, he said.
