Park and ride lot to be discussed
Grants to help dispose of solid wastes on agenda
— Cleburne City Council members will vote Tuesday on P.E.T. Construction’s $171,704 bid to construct a park-and-ride lot at the Cletran location.
The city received funding for the project last year under federal recovery act grant funds.
The grant award requires no match on the city’s part.
Council members will also vote on whether to authorize City Manager Chester Nolen to negotiate an agreement with the North Central Texas Council of Governments for two regional solid waste program implementation grant projects.
The council passed a resolution on Oct. 13 authorizing the grant applications.
The Composting Project feasibility study grant would examine composting water and wastewater treatment plant sludge with mulch from the Cleburne Transfer Station to provide a beneficial use for the finished compost product, which will eliminate the need for land filling or licensed disposal.
The Cleburne Community Recycling Center grant would establish the Cleburne Transfer Station as a drop-off point for recyclable materials.
Council members will vote on a resolution to authorize Nolen to enter an agreement with Freese & Nichols to assist the city with groundwater rule compliance. The price of the services is not to exceed $14,372.
The Cleburne City Council meets at 7 p.m. in city hall on 10 N. Robinson St.
A 4:30 p.m. workshop precedes the regular meeting.
